Temperature resistance: At present, the higher working temperature of waterproof connectors is 200°C (except for a few high-temperature special waterproof connectors), and the lower temperature is -65°C.   M5 connector

Since when the waterproof connector is working, the current generates heat at the contact point, resulting in a temperature rise, it is generally believed that the working temperature should be equal to the sum of the ambient temperature and the contact temperature rise. In some specifications, the maximum allowable temperature rise of waterproof connectors at rated operating current is specified.

Salt spray resistance: When the waterproof connector works in an environment containing moisture and salt, its metal structural parts and contact surface treatment layer may produce galvanic corrosion, which will affect the physical and electrical properties of the waterproof connector. In order to evaluate the ability of electrically waterproof connectors to withstand this environment, a salt spray test is specified. It is to hang the waterproof connector in a temperature-controlled test chamber, spray out with compressed air with a specified concentration of sodium chloride solution, form a salt spray atmosphere, and its exposure time is specified by the product specification, at least 48 hours.

Vibration and shock: Vibration and shock resistance is an important performance of electric waterproof connectors, especially important in special application environments such as railway and road transportation, it is an important indicator to test the robustness of the mechanical structure of electric waterproof connectors and the reliability of electrical contact. There are clear provisions in the relevant test methods. The peak acceleration, duration and shock pulse waveform should be specified in the shock test, as well as the time when the electrical continuity is interrupted. Resistance to moisture and moisture intrusion can affect the insulation performance of the connection and rust metal parts. The constant humid heat test conditions are relative humidity 90%~95% (according to product specifications, up to 98%), temperature +40±20 °C, and the test time is at least 96 hours according to product regulations. Alternating damp heat tests are even more stringent.
